Favorite Things by Terry Richardson Featuring Chanel Iman

This Holiday H&M editorial is from last year, but it's still one of my favorites! I remember picking up the catalog and studying everything about it over and over again. The story, the consistent lighting, the styling, theme, etc. And it's featuring my favorite girl Miss Chanel Iman. It's so chic! Terry Richardson cleans up real well.

Fresh Air: Spring Editorial by Laura Cassidy and Melissa O'Hearn

If you're from Seattle and are remotely fashion sensible, you know there is one girl who knows their stuff when it comes down to style...the one and only Laura Cassidy. I've been fortunate enough to spark a friendship with Laura, who in many ways has become a mentor of mine and someone who has opened so many doors for me and for many others who are interested in fashion and style...rising designers, new boutiques, bloggers, etc.

Laura Cassidy is the style editor of Seattle Metropolitan Magazine, and in the most recent issue she has a six page fashion editorial titled "Fresh Air" photographed by Melissa O'Hearn, hair and makeup by Erin Skipley. Featuring threads from Alhambra, Marios, Jesica Milton, Totokaelo, and more. Below are some of my faves from the series.

I love the boyfriend relaxed fits with mix matched patterns, added with a pop of color in the shoes. Neutral tones with a bit of contrast is one of my favorite fashion "do's".

I've been a little hesitant to try the sock with heels look, but after seeing this photo I was determined to make it happen. I'm getting like 6 pairs on my next pay check.

Most people I know are a little afraid to try the ever so dreaded harem pants, but look at this photo and take note. See the rest of the series here.

A Splash of Masculinity: Amber Rose in January 2010 Vibe Issue

Just when we thought Vibe was down and out forever, they were saved. Not sure who took the magazine out of their financial rut or whatever drama they were going through, but who cares. The good news is they are back and featuring one of my favorite ladies in their 2010 issue. The magazine is ringing in the New Year with a bang. I love this editorial, and I love seeing curvy girls rock high fashion. Amber Rose is the true Cinderella story. From stripper poles to Philly to landing a modeling contract with Ford NYC!

Styling is by the talented Bernardo Siatong. Former fashion editor/ creative director of Surface Magazine and PaperCity. Check him out!

Miranda Kerr Just Got 100 Times More Adorable: Glamour December 2009

Today I picked up the Glamour December 2009 issue (mainly because Rihanna was on the cover) and I was floored when I saw the following editorial with Miranda Kerr. The editorial featured a trend this season...boyfriend fits and tomboyish looks. I absolutely love the styling/ art direction in this shoot and was a little disappointed to see that Glamour didn't credit the wardrobe stylist or fashion editor for this spread. Maybe it was in the fine print? I'm not sure, but if anyone has any leads let me know.

In every superwoman, there's a superman.

A fun remix of the classic school girl look.

Bombshells: Chanel Iman and Sesilee Lopez

Some of my favorite things are featured in Allure's October 2009 issue. Chanel Iman, Sesilee Lopez, pops of color, and oversize coats! The styling in this editorial is impeccable. It's sexy without showing too much skin. It's playful without playing with too many pieces. It's colorful without using too many colors.

Happy Halloween: Tim Burton and Tim Walker Collaboration

Tim Burton and Tim Walker are true visionaries of our time. The two Tims collaborate in Harper's Bazaar October 2009 issue with the editorial "Magical Fashion". Tim Walker's photographs are usually very soft, serene, and portrayal on the sweeter side of ones imagination. In contrast Burton's work is a little more moody and dark with playful undertones. However, both artists share a similar trait they convey fantasy at its finest. The styling in this editorial is on point featuring pieces from fashion's most notable houses...from Louis Vuitton, to Jean Paul G., Chanel, D&G, Balmain, to name a few.

Chanel Iman and Jourdan Dunn: The Perfect Pair

I wasn't too excited about the styling for this photo shoot, but I was super excited that it was featuring Chanel Iman and Jourdan Dunn! I thought it was more of a personal and beauty piece rather than a fashion editorial. The wardrobe pieces were great, but the coordination of the looks were a bit bland and boring. But maybe that was the point of the spread...simple. Enjoy!

Fashion: Future vs. Flashback, Maybe Both?

For me fashion is not only the future, but a rendition of the past. You see it all the time, every season, and it is a cycle that is inevitable in fashion. Like when the 1980's did the 1920's. Or when the 1990's did the 1960's. Now we're in an era where the 1940's are back in full effect. Could it be a statement of the current economic downfall?

In the October 2009 issue of Seattle Metropolitan Laura Cassidy (fashion editor) and photographer Alex Martinez beautifully portray the 1940's in a futuristic but classic fashion editorial of a chic damsel in her daily ins and outs. Check out a couple of the photos below from the editorial, and for the rest of the story and photos click here

Riri in Vogue Italia

Word on the streets...Rihanna was suppose to grace the covers of US Vogue in upcoming Fall/ Winter issues, but ever since the nude photos of the sexy starlett leaked the internet, Editor in Chief Anna Wintour suddenly changed her mind. It's a little sad, but it's ok though! Riri got a better gig with Italian Vogue for the September 2009 issue. And the photos, styling, and art direction is on point! Enjoy...
