I'm not going to front. I like to party. When I was little I used to draw party pictures with themes dedicated to certain eras. For instance, one drawing would be a speakeasy with everyone drinking martinis, another would be a 60's hippie camp with everyone getting stoned, and my favorite era to doodle was of course the days of disco!
If you are going to be a malicious little bitch, a maneater, a druggie, a devil-worshipper, or a goldigger...then at least be pretty while doing it, and do it with style.
There is something about people who wear sunglasses without any regard to the circumstances. Whether its inside, outside, day, or night, at a funeral or a wedding...sunglasses are an essential piece to create and uphold a sense of chic mystique and cool factor. It's true...the pictures below are proof.

My boyfriend and I watched GIA last night. Seen it a couple times before, and honestly the movie is a little cheesy. Not sure if it's suppose to be cheesy because it's based in the early 80s, but the soft light vignette filters and sultry sounds of the saxaphone make it hard for me to take it seriously. All bad cinema aside, the story behind Gia Marie Carangi is quite depressing. She was so beautiful, and so young! Below are some of my favorite images of Gia, including the infamous photos by Helmut Newton that put her on the map. Enjoy!
I don't know what it is but I've always had a thing for black comedies. And I don't mean movies like "Dr. Strange Love" or "Rocky Horror Picture Show", I'm talking about funny movies that feature black African-American actors like Morris Chestnut or Taye Diggs. I know they reuse the same actors in those movies and usually have very similar premises, but they are always very entertaining. Anyway...I have been incapacitated for the last 3 days due to the fucking foot of snow outside. So what way to better entertain myself than to watch movies! I was pretty excited to see that they added an "African-American Comedies" genre in the Netflix kiosk.
P.S. This has nothing to do with the fact that my boyfriend is black...just in case you're wondering. First on the list: Boomerang circa 1992! Boomerang is a defining movie of the 90's in terms of R&B music and fashion. If you haven't seen Boomerang in awhile, I suggest you take yourself back 16 years ago and rent the movie and download the soundtrack. Peep the music video below. Babyface and Toni Braxton in "Give You My Heart". Check out Toni's black mini dress with the cut out shoulders! I kinda need that dress right now!
I heart En Vogue! Usually in female R&B groups there's always the hot one, the awkward boyish looking cute one, the chubby one, the ugly version of the hot one, etc. However all the members of En Vogue were drop dead gorgeous, and they were all the leads at one point or another.
New York Magazine has taken photos of some of the most influential people in their party pants. I wish I was some mutant that had a teleporting machine and I could transcend over space and time and attend all the cool parties.
Robin is killin it in this picture with that dress! Grace looks mighty bored. Liva lil girlfriend! Hoisery for champions. Cher is working it.
