I have been on a one month hiatus with photo shoots, but I am back to the drawing board! I have a few concepts in mind that I'm working on, and hopefully by the end of summer I can print my proofs and get a new portfolio book going.
Recently I been corresponding with Gretchen Johnson a talented and experienced wardrobe and prop stylist (Pomp Visual). I was so excited about all the advice and guidance she's been giving me in terms of the industry. When you're in Seattle it's hard to meet people who actually know what they are talking about when it comes to fashion and style so I felt very fortunate meeting her. =)
I know I haven't been blogging much, but that doesn't mean I'm not working on my craft. I spent a couple days in Skagit Valley and did a mini photo shoot with my girlfriends; Syreeta and Justine. I'm not the greatest photographer, but I styled the entire thing and hope to use the photos for when I re-open my online vintage boutique. Check out a few of the shots I did below. I was going for an early 90's Funky Cold Medina, Round The Way girl kind of look. It was just a simple test, so nothing too spectacular. I really need to brush up on my photog skills, even for simple stuff like this.
These days I am focusing on early 90's video vixenesque fashion. Some call it hookerish, I call it hot!
Justine workin' it in a Contempo Casuals bodycon mini. Hot!
Who wants to go hang out in Coney Island circa 1990? I do!
Such piercing eyes!
Below is the mood board I worked on for a photo shoot Kyle Johnson and I are going to put together. Think Marissa Tomei in "My Cousin Vinny", a Long Island girl down the block, sass and frass, pink delicious goodness, leopard print fierceness, big hair, with a cherry on top. And we have the perfect model for the shoot too! It's going to be a blast pulling looks for this shoot.
