To those who know me, know that I am a sucker for theme parties. My mentality with theme parties is this..."go big or stay home." So when Jay Sueno informed me that he was having a 1920's speakeasy for his birthday I knew exactly what I was going to wear.
An peach colored chiffon dress from the 1920's. I shit you not. I found this dress at the Goodwill Outlet for less than a dollar. The dress is very delicate so I don't wear it on the regular, but it's gorgeous. The beadwork is intricate, there are snap buttons on the side, and a sash to adjust the classic waistdrop look. I also wore a vintage Monet gold necklace from the 1960's, and a feather headpiece that was made by good friend Angela Dawn. I wore a fur shrug too! I went all out!
Nothing is more annoying to me than people who don't understand the concept of a theme party. This was a speakeasy 1920's theme party...not a futuristic version of a brothel, or Vegas porn convention. I was going to take photos of costumes that I thought failed miserably, but that would just be mean. Besides, Seattle is a small city and I might get stoned. So until I muster up enough balls to put people on blast I'll just leave it at that. Anyway...below are some photos from the party. Enjoy!
